  • Quilted gold, silver, and black metallic lamé coat; bound jewel neckline; snap front closure; princess seaming; long sleeves with bound cuffs; full length; lined in black satin.

    This piece was attributed to Ann Lowe by the donor at the time of donation. There are no labels or markings. It is beautifully constructed, but other than the high quality and donor attribution, there is no other way to verify if this coat was in fact designed by Lowe.
  • Brown plain weave silk brocade evening gown; made from a sari; gold and peacock blue supplemental weft of mango shoots (paisleys); one-shoulder; side zipper closure; seam at natural waistline; straight skirt, slit up front; border of paisleys down front and around hem; ankle length.

    Possibly an Ann Lowe gown based on the distinctive lace trim construction on the interior hem, a signature finishing technique frequently used by Lowe.
  • Off-white cotton wedding dress with cotton lace trim; natural waistline; bateau neckline; short sleeves; pin tucking on sleeves, bust, and long vertical panels on skirt; very full skirt with deep pleats; linen bows down center back are attached over center back zipper with snaps; heavily embellished with cotton lace appliqué along neckline, at empire waist, around natural waistline, and down vertical panels on skirt; interior tulle crinoline. No label.

    Worn by donor Constance Busch (neé Coburn) for her first marriage to Gordon Stuart on June 11, 1960.

    Worn by the donor, Elizabeth "Bettie" Ogden.
  • Mint green worsted ball gown; empire bodice; off the shoulder straps made of silk rose buds and tiny leaves; swirl of three dimensional rosebuds and leaves running vertically down center front, around left side of waistline to back, and down center back; flat bow at center front and center back, set on vertically; skirt has wrap-look front and wrap back; floor length; small white lace butterflies applied to petticoat. Label: "Saks Fifth Avenue Original, made for the Adam Room".

    Worn with lace coat (Object ID #1967.05.b) to form three piece ensemble of evening wear.
