Biographical Note
Virginia Moore came to Mount Mary from Crestline, Ohio. She entered Mount Mary as a freshman in 1953 and graduated in 1957 with a B.A. in English. Her first teaching positon after graduation was in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Little information about Virginia Moore can be found in the Mount Mary archives. In the course of creating this exhibit we discovered that “Ginny” Moore taught History at Lima Central Catholic School, in Lima, Ohio, for forty years and had a profound impact on many of her students. Virginia Moore passed away in 2010.
While at Mount Mary, she was an officer for Sodality, a group on campus dedicated to the sanctification of self and of others, which sponsored all-school projects including the Mission Party, Living Rosary, and May Crowning ceremony. Photos of her as part of Sodality and engaged in other activities can also be found in the 1954, 1956, and 1957 yearbooks ("Arches").
