  • A speech by Sister Aloyse Hessburg of the Mount Mary College (Milwaukee, Wisconsin) fashion department at the funeral of Aileen Ryan, former women's editor of the Milwaukee Journal and a longtime and significant supporter of the fashion program.
  • This speech was given by Sister John Francis Schuh at the 1965 Pro Urbe Civic Award Dinner at Mount Mary College (Milwaukee, Wisconsin), when Aileen Ryan was the recipient of the Pro Urbe Medal.

  • This speech was given by Sister John Francis Schuh on March 23, 1966, in the Mount Mary College Theatre. She presents Ronald Amey, visiting fashion designer from New York, and Pierce Rosenberg, president of the Grand Stores. The event was likely in celebration of the establishment of the "Mount Mary College - the Grand Stores Designer Scholarship" program, which enabled Mount Mary to bring in "eight or nine designers of note to lecture in residence during each school year."

    Goes with dress (Object ID #2003.03.11.a) and coat (Object ID #2003.03.11.c) to form three piece set.

    Worn by donor Aileen Ryan. The fabric was designed by Sister Remy Revor based on a historic Milwaukee design. The ensemble was created on designer Rosalie Macrini's receipt of an award from Mount Mary College in the mid-1960s.

    This ensemble was the first official donation to Mount Mary's Historic Costume Collection (now the Fashion Archive).

  • Brown wool bouclé suit. A. Cardigan jacket; jewel neckline with one button closure at center front, drop shoulder sleeves, two single welt diagonal pockets, fingertip length, unlined. Hong Kong seam finishes. B. A-line skirt; high rise waist with no band, one double welt pocket at right hip, no side seams, midcalf length. Worn by Valentina.
  • Beige and dark brown hand-woven wool tweed suit; yarn appears hand spun with large slubs. A. Jacket; cardigan shape, collarless, six plastic beige buttons and hand stitched buttonholes, slash pocket vents in the back on the princess line. B. Skirt; waist facing, center back zipper, one slash pocket on the right-hand side, separate silk lining attached to the waist facing. Label Valentina.

Jacket; jewel neckline, ¾ length set-in sleeves, center front opening with three covered buttons, single flap vertical pockets are set into the waist darts, slits at the sides, lined in white silk crepe. B. Skirt; straight waistband with left front closure, pockets set into pleats on the princess line, straight silhouette, ankle length, lined in white china silk. Worn by Valentina.
