Ronald Amey (1934?-1986), a New York designer, was one of many people in the fashion industry who visited Mount Mary College to share their expertise with students in the new fashion design program. He opened his fashion house with his partner, Joseph Burke, in 1959 and designed under the label Burke-Amey. His first visit to Mount Mary, in September 1965, was for the Pro Urbe Civic Award Dinner honoring Aileen Ryan, and he returned in March 1966 to conduct student counseling sessions. See Sister Mary John Francis Schuh's speech presenting him in 1966 below.

Amey returned to Mount Mary to assist with the new fashion design program and to celebrate the achievements of others in the field. To the left, he's visible in a photograph of a fashion show, likely from 1965-1968, though it's unclear whether this was one of Mount Mary's annual student fashion shows (which began in 1968) or a show of his own work.
Years later, when Florence Eiseman won Mount Mary's Gold Needle Award in 1980, Amey participated in the festivities (see photograph below).
