Illustration
Fashion illustration of two women, both in long-sleeved dresses, one belted and one boxy with a hat. Both women are wearing high heeled shoes and the illustration is labeled “Daytime Dresses” with two fabric swatches—one a cerulean blue and one a somewhat shimmering beige. Artist name is Marian Deegan, date is 1980. Mostly black and white with some green, yellow, and peach, pen and pastel on board. Measurements: 11 x 14 inches. Form on back indicates that this design was submitted to the International Ladies' Garment Workers' Union (ILGWU) "America's Next Great Designer Awards".
Marian Deegan was a Fashion Design major, Class of 1981. -

Written on the page is “illus #4: high tide” and two of the women are labeled as jill de rocher (2 and 4) and two are labeled as tanya gross (1 and 3). First image is a button down long sleeve and shorts set. Second is a back view of a one piece short sleeved swimsuit with a cutout on the back. Third is a short sleeve and long pants set. Last is a one piece sleeveless swimsuit with a cover up. No year, artist written as “LS”. Black and white pen and marker on construction paper. Measurements: 18 x 12 inches.
This artwork was featured in the 1990 Fashion Show Program, "Zeitgeist, spirit of the times...". Jill De Rocher was a Mount Mary Fashion Design student, Class of 1980, and Tanya Gross was a Fashion Merchandising student, Class of 1981. Unknown whether they graduated from the program. According to the program, the artist is likely Lih Shyu, who was a Fashion Design major, Class of 1993. -
Jacqueline de Ribes evening gown
One shoulder purple velvet and taffeta gown; shoulder strap on left, built-in corset of black mesh, taffeta over-drape covering the bust and creating a large skirt to the right side, taffeta drape lined in clear polyester mesh to stiffen, left side zipper, bow on shoulder and on right side of skirt at the hip, ankle length. Line across the skirt where it probably draped across a hanger. -
Jacket
Color block wool twill boxy jacket; magenta, blue, and red with right sleeve in yellow; high neckline; 5 buttons; straight 3/4 length sleeves; bound at neck, hem, sleeve, armscye, and down front in black; lined. Originally worn with a skirt.

B. Orange crepe long skirt with all-over floral print in greens, oranges, and metallic gold; gathered; gold smocking at waist; hem finished in gold thread; elastic at waistband has stretched out. C. Orange silk chiffon camisole; spaghetti straps.
Worn with blouse (Object ID #2009.11.40.a) and belt (Object ID #2009.11.40.d) to form four piece ensemble.

B. Orange crepe long skirt with all-over floral print in greens, oranges, and metallic gold; gathered; gold smocking at waist; hem finished in gold thread; elastic at waistband has stretched out. C. Orange silk chiffon camisole; spaghetti straps. D. Gold and orange rope belt; two gold tassels.

My husband worked with him on a fragrance." -

Donor noted that this ensemble was made for the opening of Marshall Field's store on Michigan Avenue, possibly referring to the opening of Marshall Field's in Water Tower Place in 1975. -
