Green and white gingham cotton and tulle evening gown; decorated with appliqués; shirtwaist style; natural waistline; V-shaped neckline; bodice of tulle over cotton gingham bandeau; buttons down back with 13 ball buttons and loops to within 5 inches of waist; long shirt sleeves, gather to narrow cuffs; sleeves are a combination of gingham and tulle; gathered skirt; full length; overskirt of printed tulle. B. Pink, yellow, and green grosgrain ribbon belt; 5/8 inch wide. -

Worn with top (Object ID #1988.195.a) to form two piece evening ensemble.
Donor noted that this ensemble was made for the opening of Marshall Field's store on Michigan Avenue, possibly referring to the opening of Marshall Field's in Water Tower Place in 1975. -
