  • Light green crepe dress; turtleneck collar that ties in back; front of sleeve is kimono style, back is raglan; bust darts; empire waist that drops to natural waistline in back; center back seam with zipper; calf length with fallen hem; lining is a champagne color. Hem is unfinished.

  • Cashmere striped dress in various shades of red; horizontal stripes are red, tomato red, and fuschia. Ostrich feathers are knitted in at the hem. Slip shape, sleeveless, deep v-neckline, A-line skirt, knee length.

  • White and black printed silk gazar dress; pattern of white ground printed with black balls 2 ½ inches in diameter connected by thin bars, narrow straps at front, deep v-neckline, spaghetti straps in back, additional tie extending from bust, midriff yoke decorated with five medallions of beads at front, skirt has stitched down pleats at the waist, two rows of fabric near hem stitched on intermittently, center back zipper, knee length, lined in white china silk. Worn with matching jacket (Object ID #2013.04.20.B). This item is from Christian LaCroix Spring 2007 Ready-to-Wear collection.

Viscose/polyester fabric at bodice sides and skirt left is light blue with small uneven wrinkles, scoop neckline, shoulder yoke, sleeveless, six center front buttons to a dropped waistline, short flared skirt, lined in light blue china silk.

  • Sister Aloyse Hessburg, SSND, of Mount Mary College stands with the dress she designed, made, and fitted on Mrs. Frances Howard Robb (wife of James Robb), worn at the White House wedding of Mrs. Robb's son Charles Robb to Lynda Bird Johnson, daughter of President Lyndon B. Johnson, on December 9, 1967.

    The picture was likely taken at Mount Mary College in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

    This photograph appeared in the Sunday Post-Tribune on March 17, 1968. No photographer was credited. It may have also appeared in other newspapers; it was likely an AP or UPI photograph.

Possibly had longer sleeves at some point. C. Short bolero jacket; jewel neckline, 3/4 length kimono sleeves, cut in one with body of jacket. French darts, unlined. D. Wrap, single piece of fabric. E. Belt latches in back with hook and eyes and snap closure. Small, flat bow.

  • Black silk tulle surplice wrap overdress; jewel neckline, straight long sleeves, hook and eye closure at left side front. Gathered skirt with stabilized waistband, mid-calf length. Finished with tiny machine-sewn French seams. Worn over underdress (Object ID #1995.331). Worn by Valentina.
  • Black silk tulle surplice wrap dress; v-shaped neckline, straight bracelet-length sleeves cut on the bias, natural waist seam, five button/loop closures at left side front of surplice wrap (two buttons missing), full length bell skirt. Finished with tiny machined French seams. Worn by Valentina.
  • Gold jersey ankle length dinner dress; gathered jewel neckline with small slit on center front, bodice has side seams. High-waisted skirt with seams on center front and princess line, no side seams. Batwing long sleeves, back button closure at neck. Large keyhole upper back is open between neck and midriff, back waist is pieced in five narrow V-shaped panels divided by a metal zipper with hook and eye at top of skirt. Back of skirt has seams on the princess line. Dress is very worn, especially at seams; large repairs on front of bodice, several small patches.

    According to Charles Kleibacker this dress is from the personal wardrobe of Gloria Swanson (1899-1983).
  • Pale blue flocked organdy cocktail dress; ground is pale blue with black flocking in floral sprays throughout, diagonal darts for shaping, boned at side seams, normal waist dipping to center back, flare skirt, bias cut, tea length, center back zipper. Most of flocking has detached. Several beige colored stains on skirt. Worn by Valentina.
