  • Dark red felted wool coat; long sleeves with raglan seams; .5 inch wide flap coming out of seam (toward the neck) from mid-seam to back neck; collar is lower half of a notched lapel, folding into the center front opening; a seam comes down from either armpit, leading into pockets at waist; center back seam; no closures; label: "Geoffrey Beene".

    The donor, On-Ke Wilde, was the former textiles editor for Women's Wear Daily from 1978 to 1984. This coat was possibly purchased when Wilde was living in Paris as a foreign correspondent for Time magazine in the late 1960s.

Multicolored day dress; wool knit solid black bodice; wool twill skirt with multicolored large scale nature print; image of large flowers in pink, coral, and orange with black centers, light and dark green leaves, yellow and light purple butterflies, and black and white birds with orange wings, all on a dark purple ground; skirt has 1.25 inch wide black cord piping trim down the side seams and around hem; bodice has long sleeves, bust darts, and 1.75 inch wide turtleneck; sleeves have 4 inch long vertical zipper closures on inner cuffs; center back has 22 inch zipper closure, which begins below turtleneck. B. Wool twill coat in matching fabric; long sleeves with 1.25 inch wide black cord piping trim at cuffs; matching trim goes around hem, shoulder seams, collar seam, and down center front opening; 1.75 inch wide mandarin collar; 6 black cloth covered button closure that are hidden when coat is closed; center back and armhole princess seams; label reads: "Donald Brooks". C. Wool twill and leather belt; 2 inches wide; wool twill is matching fabric to dress and coat; tan leather back; exaggerated square buckle covered in self-fabric; 3 holes.

  • Quilted gold, silver, and black metallic lamé coat; bound jewel neckline; snap front closure; princess seaming; long sleeves with bound cuffs; full length; lined in black satin.

    This piece was attributed to Ann Lowe by the donor at the time of donation. There are no labels or markings. It is beautifully constructed, but other than the high quality and donor attribution, there is no other way to verify if this coat was in fact designed by Lowe.
