  • Beige georgette ensemble of a dress, jacket, and belt. A. Dress has halter neckline that closes at nape with two hook and clip closures, sleeveless, natural waistline, bodice closes at lower center back with five hook and clip closures. Skirt gathered at waist, floor length with extra panel that wraps over back closure and is secured with six snaps. B. Jacket with high neckline with buttonhole and clip closure at nape, bracelet length modified Angel sleeves that start at elbow. Rest of jacket has no seams and sits like a shawl. Large slit in center front. Back is bare. C. Belt has six hook and eye closures at back, sits at natural waist, brown decorative arrow detail at center front.

Brown crepe skirt; shirred square-set yoke at center back; side zipper closure; mid-calf length. C. Brown Eugenie style hat; variegated ostrich plumes trim; brown velvet flat bows.

Off-white slubby raw silk jacket; silk-screened with large abstract shapes in orange, maroon, blue, and green; jewel neckline; center front opening with no closure; elbow length set-in sleeves with turned-back cuffs; back is gathered into shoulder yoke; unlined; thigh length. B. Off-white silk shantung blouse; jewel neckline; sleeveless; center back zipper closure. C. Off-white slubby raw silk skirt; silk-screened with large abstract shapes in orange, maroon, blue, and green; no waistband; sewn down pleats; side zipper closure; lined in white China silk; mid-calf length.

  • Bright yellow linen ensemble. A. Over-blouse; low round neckline; white V-shaped insert at neckline banded with purple; full center back zipper closure. B. Suit jacket; semi-fitted; 1.5 inch mandarin collar; 3/4 length sleeves; mock flap pockets. C. Suit skirt; pleated; three 4 inch front inverted pleats; fully lined.

    Worn by donor Mrs. FitzSimmons to the horse races. The winning horse was called "Stupendous," and Mrs. FitzSimmons was wearing the jockey's colors of yellow and purple.
  • A. Black wool jersey tunic top; high round neckline; front of tunic is cut on bias; five self-covered buttons and bound buttonholes. B. Black wool jersey straight skirt; lined; short length. C. Black wool jersey belt; self-covered button and bound buttonhole.
  • Light beige silk shantung ensemble. A. Dress; slim pencil skirt; slit in center back seam for ease of movement; skirt attached to a tan silk lingerie top with spaghetti straps; fifteen inch long center zipper closure; skirt underlined with ivory silk. B. Overblouse; sleeveless; wide band of horizontal and vertical faggoting; concealed center back zipper closure; twenty-two and 1/2 inches long.

  • A. Brown wool tweed wrap-around full skirt; pleated, hem decorated with printed satin band 5 inches wide with brown satin ribbon above and black grosgrain ribbon below, above knee length. B. Brown wool tweed jacket; wide portrait collar covered with brown embroidery throughout, knotted fringe on edge of collar, long set-in sleeves with embroidery at wrist, fitted through waist, hip length, one button closure, lined in orange taffeta. Part of ensemble with blouse (Object ID #2013.04.17.C).
