  • White and deep purple striped silk broadcloth evening ensemble. A. Gown; high collar neckline; long slim sleeves; cut on bias to create diagonal strip; straight silhouette ending in eleven inch flounce; back zipper closure; ankle length. B. Scarf; bias cut; 125 inches long. Custom made for Hildegarde as a performance gown.
  • Black wool suit with green, red, and white slub yarns threaded horizontally through fabric to form stripes. A. Box jacket; square neckline; true double breasted front closure with bound buttonholes; straight sleeves with one button. B. A-line skirt; knee length; zipper broken; missing button at left cuff.
  • Dark gray wool self-striped suit A. Fitted jacket; collar has zig-zag edges on front; button-front with many small buttons; button detail on front and back of sleeve; seven plastic buttons at center front; three buttons on plackets on each breast; one button on tab on long sleeves; back has two plackets with three buttons each; center back vent. B. Skirt; slim and straight; deep vent at center back; mid-calf length.

B. Straight skirt; straight waistband; side metal zipper closure; inset of vertical striped fabric at knee; mid-calf length.
  • Black and white pinstriped cotton suit. C. Vest; reverse fabric from rest of suit; 3 button center front closure. Worn with blazer jacket (Object ID #1999.81.a) and skirt (Object ID #1999.81.b) to form three piece ensemble.
