Probably worn with dress (Object ID #2004.03.664).

  • Mary Fulop Nowakowski poses in a dress (Object ID #2022.05.01.a) she made as her senior project in Fashion Design at Mount Mary College in 1974. The dress is part of a theater suit with coat (Object ID #2022.05.01.b). This suit is an exact reproduction of a 1908 theater suit in the collection of the Wisconsin State Historical Society.

    The exact date of the photograph is unknown but must have been 1974 or after.
  • Red orange wool flannel shorts; white top-stitching; wide, deep central front inverted pleat, two additional frontal pleats and two back pleats; slant pockets lined with orange nylon; open slit on right side of shorts; basting threads around lower cuffs.
  • Ivory striped wool plain weave short coat; stripes are brown and dark yellow; jewel neck; center front opening with 3 large bone buttons and bound buttonholes; three-quarter length set-in padded sleeves; side seams open from waist; attached self-fabric belt that ties in back; lined in ivory silk crepe. Worn with Dress, Object ID #2004.03.395.A, to form ensemble.
