Made by donor, Mary Fulop Nowakowski, MMC Fashion Design graduate, class of 1974. Created for the 1973 fashion show. The outfit was listed as "not for sale," though the muslins could be purchased for $15.00 (skirt) and $10.00 (halter top). -

Dress; jewel collar; plain short sleeves; raglan-style yoke at front and back of bodice; insets below each sleeve, extending through waist seam and into straight, fitted skirt; mandarin-style closure at left front yoke seam with four carved wooden buttons, self-fabric loops, and snap at neck; zipper closure in left front inset seam; side seam pockets; fully lined; knee length. B. Cape; funnel collar; mandarin-style closure at left front with four carved wooden buttons; front and back have matching center insets, front is open along these seams below chest level; fully lined; just past elbow length.

Gown; V-neckline; long bishop sleeves; empire waistline; center front zipper closure; light blue silk crepe bodice, gathers into shoulder yoke; Peacock blue knit pile A-line skirt; floor length. B. Bolero jacket; jewel neckline; long bishop sleeves; center front hook and eye closure; lined in light blue silk crepe.
Note from Sister Aloyse Hessburg: "Blue knit pile fabric by Borg Textile Group, a Wisconsin industry. They challenged the senior class in 1970 to create garments 'for a winter evening' using their fabric. Christee selected this fabric (at that time the most flexible of their line) and used the silk fabric bodice and lining of silk crepe. The fur closure hooks were the only available on short notice. (Industry would have had time to get correct size and color.) C. Black silk evening coat; brown fur cuffs; red silk taffeta lining is made of the dress fabric; no closures; label: "Rosalie Macrini"; mid-calf length.
Goes with stole (Object ID #2003.03.11.b) to form three piece set.
Worn by donor Aileen Ryan. The fabric was designed by Sister Remy Revor based on a historic Milwaukee design. The ensemble was created on designer Rosalie Macrini's receipt of an award from Mount Mary College in the mid-1960s.
This ensemble was the first official donation to Mount Mary's Historic Costume Collection (now the Fashion Archive). -

Turquoise chiffon and satin striped cocoon style jacket; thin gold stripe fabric; fabric gathered into neck edge and wrist edges; edges bound with turquoise satin; button and loop closures at wrists; not lined; couture techniques throughout.
