    This suit is an exact reproduction of a 1908 theater suit in the collection of the Wisconsin State Historical Society. The donor made this replica as her senior project in Fashion Design at Mount Mary College in 1974.
  • Ivory wool theater coat; shawl collar; two large button and loop closures at center front; long sleeves, gathered at shoulders; lace and soutache trim at sleeve hems; soutache trim on collar and along princess seams at front and back; satin lining; mid-calf length. Part of a theater suit with dress (Object ID #2022.05.01.a).

    This suit is an exact reproduction of a 1908 theater suit in the collection of the Wisconsin State Historical Society. The donor made this replica as her senior project in Fashion Design at Mount Mary College in 1974.
  • White horsehair braid and lace picture hat; small rounded crown; six inch wide brim; small silk roses form hatband; no lining or headsize band.
  • Natural tan straw picture hat; large-brimmed; top decorated with white lace appliqués; pale yellow taffeta ribbon hatband; rounded crown; pale yellow headsize band.
  • Black lace overblouse; band collar with ruffle; bell sleeves with scalloped caps; cuffs embellished with flat black sequins; sequins also hand-applied to front of blouse.

    Donor Rosemary Wachowiak was Frank Olive's sister.
  • Brown lace blouse; over-stitched gray ribbon, standing collar, short set-in sleeves, button and loop closures at the back neck. Part of ensemble with skirt (Object ID #2013.04.17.A) and jacket (Object ID #2013.04.17.B).

Black silk organza and lace cocktail dress; sweetheart neckline; sleeveless; contour darts at waist; center back zipper closure; lace at bodice center front over shoulders to waist to mid-skirt; organza horizontally tucked to mid-skirt, untucked below lace at mid-skirt; lined in tan ninon; ballerina length. B. Beige silk taffeta slip; spaghetti straps; boned; center back zipper closure; ballerina length.

  • White linen muslin handkerchief with Hildegarde's signature embroidered in pink thread; eleven inches square. Owned by Hildegarde.
  • Black chiffon and lace handkerchief; center is chiffon (12 inch square); 6.5 inch lace borders; 25 inch square. Probably used by Hildegarde in performance.
  • Off-white silk crepe and lace handkerchief; twenty-four inches square with 4.5 inch wide lace border. Owned by Hildegarde.
