A. Child's navy blue cotton/polyester blend shirt; jewel neckline; small white ribbed standing collar; long sleeves with ribbed cuffs; 2 snaps at left shoulder; intarsia pattern of red houses, white picket fence, and green road lines; appliqués of 2 red cars, cloud, and sun. B. Child's navy blue cotton/polyester blend pants; elastic waist; legs gathered into green and navy blue striped cuffs. -
Gown
Navy blue and pink paisley silk chiffon gown; made of sari fabric; bodice constructed in criss-cross style; raglan sleeves flow from front and back panels that are attached at neck edge; back tie belt.
Designed and sewn by Lynn Fontanne in 1965 using fabric from an Indian sari purchased at a London antique store. Worn by Lynn during an interview on PBS in 1980, and in the photograph linked below, "Lynn Fontanne with Cole Leslie and Alfred Lunt." Donor was the niece of Lynn Fontanne and Alfred Lunt. -

Navy blue silk crepe dress with white stripes; jewel neckline; bodice cut on the bias; bodice has navy lining; white domed button closures up center back; seam at natural waistline; long set-in sleeves with shoulder pads; three buttons at back sleeve cuffs; pleated skirt; mid-calf length; double folded hem at bottom. B. White leather belt; oval-shaped white buckle with navy blue edging; "Galanos" printed inside.

Worn with belt (Object ID #2008.09.53.b). Belt is removed here to make the pleating visible.

Navy blue with white stripes wool dress; mandarin collar; long sleeves; stripes are seamed on bodice and fall into pleats on skirt; center front zipper closure.
The long sleeves were put back into the dress by the donor, Steven Stipelman. -

Navy blue silk charmeuse evening gown; high banded neckline, fits tight to throat; sleeveless; low-cut armscyes front and back; empire waistline; 1 inch band and tie at waist, trimmed with silver ring; floor length. Originally worn with a matching scarf which is missing. -
Dinner dress
A. Navy blue and off-white silk chiffon dinner dress; jewel neckline; eight button closures down center front; shoulder pads; set-in bishop sleeves; single button at each cuff; floor length. B. Off-white silk half slip; pencil silhouette; elastic waistline; center back zipper closure with one hook and eye; slit up center back. -
Purse
Navy blue leather purse; belt-like handle with gold buckle closure; strap across opening with large gold clasp closure; navy top-stitching; brown leather interior; inside pocket with zipper closure; 13 inches wide by 8 inches high.

Navy blue leather purse; rectangular shape; 1/2 inch wide shoulder strap connected by gold rings and D-rings; gold zipper closure; side pocket on outside of purse, also with gold zipper closure; piping along front and back; red lining; no inside pockets; 8 inches wide by 5 inches high.
