Turquoise paisley pattern wool challis pants; pattern in shades of green and purple; tapered legs; built-up waist; two front and back darts; left side zipper closure. -
Gown
Navy blue and pink paisley silk chiffon gown; made of sari fabric; bodice constructed in criss-cross style; raglan sleeves flow from front and back panels that are attached at neck edge; back tie belt.
Designed and sewn by Lynn Fontanne in 1965 using fabric from an Indian sari purchased at a London antique store. Worn by Lynn during an interview on PBS in 1980, and in the photograph linked below, "Lynn Fontanne with Cole Leslie and Alfred Lunt." Donor was the niece of Lynn Fontanne and Alfred Lunt. -

A. Multicolored paisley print silk blouse; print in shades of green, burgundy, mustard, and ivory; sleeveless; tie neckline; 4 button front closure; gathered onto waistband with double button closure. B. Burgundy wool double knit skirt; gathered; unusual double zipper closures at side back seams. -

Black paisley challis dress; black ground with printed purple paisley; T-shape trapeze shape; mandarin collar; multiple released tucks around collar; puffed sleeves with cuff; flared, knee length skirt; cut on the bias; china silk lining.
