Thierry Mugler skirt suit
Black wool skirt suit. A. Jacket; decorated with an under placket of fuchsia sequins in flame pattern around the neckline and front opening (some sequins missing). Collarless, snap and hook closures, purple sequin separate flower on the left chest, modified princess seams to create a small waist, pockets on hips set into the seams. B. Black wool straight skirt; straight waistband, center back zipper, front and left side hem has flame shape cut-outs of fuschia sequins (some sequins missing), knee length. B. Rust colored wool melton suit skirt; A-line; regular waistband; single welt slash pockets; two hook and eye closures on side with zipper closure. C. Deep orange silk faille blouse (untucked); turtleneck collar; three hook and eye closures in front; long sleeves; bias cut; side zipper closure.
Worn with suit jacket (Object ID #2004.17.15.a) to form three piece ensemble. -

B. Rust colored wool melton suit skirt; A-line; regular waistband; single welt slash pockets; two hook and eye closures on side with zipper closure. C. Deep orange silk faille blouse; turtleneck collar; three hook and eye closures in front; long sleeves; bias cut; side zipper closure. -

Khaki and orange wool twill suit. A. Jacket; semi-fitted; upper collar is khaki, wool epaulets are orange; epaulets have silver buttons and bound buttonholes; six silver buttons down front with bound buttonholes; set-in long sleeves; 1.5 inch wide self-fabric belt with leather backing; four keepers and squared silver ball and bar buckle; lined in orange china silk. B. Skirt; A-line; straight waistband; softly gathered panels; front panel of khaki; slit open almost to waistband at center front, creating the look of a center pleat; hand-overcast center back zipper; underskirt has khaki wool front and khaki silk taffeta back; knee length.

Inspired by an eighteenth century gentleman's frock coat. B. Skirt; very slim; bias bound slash pockets and slim skirt with bias bound slash pockets; zipper on left side. C. Putty colored silk jacquard vest; pattern of gray, beige, and brown leaves; shawl collar; seven self-covered buttons and bound buttonholes; fitted; pointed center front; watch pocket on right side; back is plain putty colored silk, underlined in matching silk; half belt with pewter colored metal buckle. -
