Orange silk taffeta ballgown; deep shoulder puff; diagonal shirring forms "V" from bodice to skirt hemline; pouff released along shirring, backed with additional ruffle; drawn up to bustle at center back; ankle length; very complicated patternmaking. -

Indian off-white cashmere shawl; embroidered in pink, orange, and green paisleys on ends; smaller motifs along length; fringed short ends; 68 inches wide by 144 inches long.
