Outfit also has a large black velvet bow (Object ID #1997.408.b) that can be worn instead of the pink bow.

Black silk crepe skirt; knife pleats; 2 inch wide waistband; full length; silk crepe lining. C. Black satin-covered belt; 3 inches wide. D. Black satin neck bow. -
Evening gown
Black silk crepe evening gown; strapless; six white narrow vertical strips applied evenly along gown with white bows at top; strips run down dress below knee, flaring out with six godets; black sequin beading runs completely around white strips; corselet bodice understructure, back hook closures; center back zipper with hook and eye closures. Worn by Hildegarde for the first time in Milwaukee in 1948.
