Black silk brocade and velvet pelerine evening capelet; floral jacquard with clipped velvet design accented with jet beads. Lined with silk velvet, forms deep front facings. Edge between jacquard and velvet beaded with sequins and jet caviar beads on netting.
Antique Spanish capelet or shawl often worn by Valentina to complement her own garments. Likely served as an inspiration for wraps and shawls she designed.

Sister Aloyse Hessburg, SSND, of Mount Mary College stands with the dress she designed, made, and fitted on Mrs. Frances Howard Robb (wife of James Robb), worn at the White House wedding of Mrs. Robb's son Charles Robb to Lynda Bird Johnson, daughter of President Lyndon B. Johnson, on December 9, 1967.
The picture was likely taken at Mount Mary College in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
