Dark red wool blouse; rounded neckline front and back; cap sleeves and godets; eighteen inch long hand-overcast center back zipper; slightly fitted with tucks; black silk underlining. Worn with jacket, Object ID #2004.03.136.A to form three piece suit. -
Blouse and underdress without overdress
B. Black brushed silk underdress; back is brushed silk, front is taffeta; sleeveless taffeta bodice. C. Ivory organza blouse; worn backwards to fill in "V" of overdress; ruffled neckline and sleeve cuffs; snap and hook and eye closures.
Worn with overdress (Object ID #1983.193.a) to form three piece ensemble. Ensemble was worn with cape (Object ID #1983.212).
Worn by Lynn Fontanne. Made by Lynn Fontanne using a Jacques Griffe Vogue pattern, which she reworked to give the overdress a deep V back. The ensemble was originally worn with a white ruffled dickey. Donor was the niece of Lynn Fontanne and Alfred Lunt. -

Black wool crepe bolero jacket; neck falls straight from neckline without closure, kimono square set elbow length sleeves, lined with ivory silk crepe. Worn by Valentina. -

Cut from one piece of cloth; only seams are underarm, shoulder dart, and vertical bust dart. Completely hand overcast; facings are double overcast. Worn by Valentina. -

Black wool felt breton hat; upturned part of brim is covered in strip of black velvet; brim is wider in front; hot pink headsize band; not lined. -

Black and white twill cape; high funnel neck; black shoulder yoke forms squared-off "V" to bust; eight covered ball button and loop closure; circular shape to knees; area in back has white ground with black squares, remainder of garment is black with line across front; unlined except at shoulders. Probably worn with dress (Object ID #2004.03.664).

Christian LaCroix dress
White and black printed silk gazar dress; pattern of white ground printed with black balls 2 ½ inches in diameter connected by thin bars, narrow straps at front, deep v-neckline, spaghetti straps in back, additional tie extending from bust, midriff yoke decorated with five medallions of beads at front, skirt has stitched down pleats at the waist, two rows of fabric near hem stitched on intermittently, center back zipper, knee length, lined in white china silk. Worn with matching jacket (Object ID #2013.04.20.B). This item is from Christian LaCroix Spring 2007 Ready-to-Wear collection. -
