Jacket; jewel neckline; high cut revers; set-in three-quarter sleeves with cut-outs; fitted silhouette with curved diagonal darts; unusual scalloped hem and pockets; bias-bound breast pocket; three large and four small self-covered buttons with bound buttonholes at center front; 51/2 inch long center back slit; underlined in beige silk. Label: "Irene" in script on beige silk. B. Skirt; straight cut; darts on self-band; four inch long slit of either side for ease in walking.

Blouse; bateau neckline; puffed sleeves with interior heading; uneven hemline, pulled up and pleated at left side hip revealing left leg; lined with China silk. B. Skirt; inverted pleats at center front knee level to floor; full evening length; elastic waist; unlined.

Green and black silk satin evening gown; empire waistline; green silk satin bodice and half inch straps; button/loop with zipper closure at left side; black Peg skirt with right side seam slit; full length. B. Green silk satin bolero jacket; heavily encrusted with gold braid and red and amber faceted flat beads; Hook and eye closure. Turkish inspired. 1958 showroom sample.

Inspired by an eighteenth century gentleman's frock coat. B. Skirt; very slim; bias bound slash pockets and slim skirt with bias bound slash pockets; zipper on left side. C. Putty colored silk jacquard vest; pattern of gray, beige, and brown leaves; shawl collar; seven self-covered buttons and bound buttonholes; fitted; pointed center front; watch pocket on right side; back is plain putty colored silk, underlined in matching silk; half belt with pewter colored metal buckle.
  • Teal and black window pane check suit jacket and skirt of British worsted wool tweed. A. Jacket; notched collar; three black buttons and bound buttonholes high under collar; set-in three-quarter length sleeves ending in slit cuffs; long darts in front; low self belt over pocket; button closure at side seam; underlined in teal silk. Label: "Irene" script on beige silk. B. Skirt; straight silhouette; darts on self belt with four inch slit for freedom in movement on either side. C. Shaded teal, white, and black silk print shell overblouse; jewel neckline; sleeveless; center back zipper; lined in teal silk.
