  • B. Underdress; dark red and black striped wool straight skirt; attached to black silk bodice; sleeveless; nineteen inch long black zipper closure; attached petticoat. C. Dark red wool blouse; rounded neckline front and back; cap sleeves and godets; eighteen inch long hand-overcast center back zipper; slightly fitted with tucks; black silk underlining. Worn with jacket, Object ID #2004.03.136.A to form three piece suit.

Pink, green, yellow, and white vertical striped worsted wool/silk blend coat; double-breasted; convertible collar is an unusual turned tube; 10 flat pearl buttons edged with gold double-breasted center front closure; bishop sleeves with cuffs; 2 hand-attached patch pockets at hipline; A-line skirt; knee length; lined with china silk. B. Matching belt.

Navy blue silk crepe dress with white stripes; jewel neckline; bodice cut on the bias; bodice has navy lining; white domed button closures up center back; seam at natural waistline; long set-in sleeves with shoulder pads; three buttons at back sleeve cuffs; pleated skirt; mid-calf length; double folded hem at bottom.

    Worn with belt (Object ID #2008.09.53.b). Belt is removed here to make the pleating visible.

  • Pink, white, and black horizontally striped cotton dress; rolled collar; short kimono sleeves with gussets; bust darts; cuffs edged with black satin; appliquéd vertical black stripes on bodice front; one black plastic button closure; very full skirt; knife pleats at waist.
  • Child's blue pinstriped cotton dress; A-line; sleeveless; scoop neckline; white bands around neckline and armholes; 2 white and yellow daisy appliques at right shoulder, 1 at left, and 2 slightly left of center front; 2 snaps at shoulder; zipper closure at front left, snap below zipper; attached half belt in back with one button closure.

    This dress has features similar to Florence Eiseman's "Functional Fashions" line for children with disabilities from the early 1960s. It is unknown if this dress was officially part of that line or merely uses similar design elements.

  • Brown wool double knit sheath dress; 2 parallel white stripes run down center front; set of 3 white/2 black stripes run down princess lines; stripe pattern repeated on back; high scoop neckline; left side metal zipper closure, hand-inserted; hook and eye and snap closures at shoulder; 7.5 inch band at bottom with horizontal stripes.

  • Black wool flannel dress; black ground with narrow white stripes; wide notched collar; self bias binding around collar and down side of front; double breasted; four black buttons and bound buttonholes continuing around waistline; set-in 3/4 length sleeves with turned-up cuffs; slim skirt with tucks and vertical bound pockets; 7 1/2 inch long center seam slit for ease in walking; center back seam. Missing a button. Presented in the fall of 1950.
  • A. Brown, multi-colored dress; diagonal stripes; center back zipper; elastic at waist; sleeves are double layered, belled at cuff to under sleeve; collar tie at center back; chevron stripes at center front and center back. B. Matching belt of same fabric.
  • A. Off-white silk broadcloth dress with narrow khaki stripe; V-neckline; two-piece kimono sleeves; fitted waistline with tucks; deep patch pocket on right hand side; stripes used horizontally for a wide band down center back and down front to conceal zipper; slim straight silhouette; mid-calf length. B. Khaki silk broadcloth belt.
  • Brown striped jersey dress; stripes are orange, green, and dark brown; bateau neckline; gathered shoulder seams with elastic; straight long sleeves; two parabola pockets at hips; knee length.

    Worn with cape (Object ID #1980.105.A) to form two piece ensemble.

  • Child's blue and white striped wool knit dress; scoop neckline; sleeveless; horizontal stripes on shoulder yoke, vertical stripes on skirt; skirt gathered into yoke; 4-petal flower appliqué on right hip, flower has white center and two green leaves; two blue ties at back waist; unlined.
