Brown linen skirt suit. A. Jacket; collarless, square set-in sleeves, seaming at back creates a peplum shape, three 1/2" covered buttons and bound buttonhole closure at center front. B. Skirt; dirndl style, large pleat worked as part of each inset pocket.
Worn by Lynn Fontanne. Donor was the niece of Lynn Fontanne and Alfred Lunt. -

B. Gold multicolored silk evening skirt; floor length; straight; slit up one side; completely sequined over batik print.
Worn with top (Object ID #1988.195.a) to form two piece evening ensemble.
Donor noted that this ensemble was made for the opening of Marshall Field's store on Michigan Avenue, possibly referring to the opening of Marshall Field's in Water Tower Place in 1975.
