Letter from Elaine Zarse to Sister Ellen Lorenz and Sister Luetta Wolf, December 20, 1983
A letter from Elaine Zarse, instructor in the Fashion Design Program at Mount Mary College (Milwaukee, Wisconsin), to Sister Ellen Lorenz and Sister Luetta Wolf, expressing her ideas regarding the organization of the Home Economics Department. Zarse was in favor of making the individual programs (including Fashion Design) into separate departments and had suggestions for department chairpeople. This was in response to the "Letter from Sister Ellen Lorenz and Sister Luetta Wolf to faculty, December 8, 1983" (linked below). -
Reverse (pink) side of coat
Black silk satin theatre coat; reversible to hot pink silk satin; pockets on both sides; stand-up band with one attached fringed tie in pink and black, passes through opening in band; drop shoulder; 7/8 length sleeves; silk twist braiding down front, around hemline, and sleeves; braiding holds two layers together 1 inch from edge; 7/8 length; slit on each side; weighted. Label: "Christian Dior, Paris, Couture, Autome-Hiver, 1960".

Worn by Peg Bradley. This dress is from Yves Saint Laurent's Pop Collection of 1965-66 and is featured in the Metropolitan Museum of Art's catalog of the exhibition of his work. It is identified as his "Poliakoff" dress, inspired by the paintings of Serge Poliakoff. -

Mollie Parnis Livingston at a luncheon at the White House during the State Visit of Queen Margrethe II of Denmark and Prince Henrik. She sits at the far right side of the table. Other people at the table include Betty Ford, Prince Henrik, Robin Chandler Duke, Henning Rohde, Mrs. Kenneth Hansen, Allan Blanchard, Martha Hansen, Rep. Clair Burgener, and Victor Borge (not all are visible in this shot). The luncheon took place in the State Dining Room.
