Bodice; asymmetrically draped, off the shoulder, long sleeves, pointed waistline in front, center back zipper, internal black corset. B. Skirt; asymmetrically draped, knee length, side zipper.
  • Child's red linen vest; V-shaped neckline; sleeveless; three pearl button center front closure; belt buttons at back, white and gray embroidered half circles on red ground.

    Goes with stole (Object ID #2003.03.11.b) to form three piece set.

    Worn by donor Aileen Ryan. The fabric was designed by Sister Remy Revor based on a historic Milwaukee design. The ensemble was created on designer Rosalie Macrini's receipt of an award from Mount Mary College in the late 1960s.

    This ensemble was the first official donation to Mount Mary's Historic Costume Collection (now the Fashion Archive).

Jacket; box style; standing collar with deeply fringed ends; turn-screw front closure; two single welt pockets with deeply fringed bottoms- fringe extends beyond hemline of jacket. B. Skirt; inverted pleating at center front; navy leather waistband with turn-screw at side closure; knee length.

  • A. Red suede shirt; 3/4 length sleeves with elasticized hems; snap front closure; standing collar; unlined. B. Brown and white check sheer wool "Panung" style skirt; straight waistband; gathered straight silhouette; side pockets in seams; ankle length.
  • Red linen ensemble. A. Bolero-type jacket; notched collar; princess seaming; one oversized gold button closure. B. Dress; A-line; sleeveless; Princess seaming at sides; no side seam.
  • Red wool melton ensemble. A. Cardigan style jacket; jewel neckline; three inch inset waistband; 2.25 inch covered button closure at left side front; two mock pocket flaps at hips; straight sleeves. B. Skirt; A-line; grosgrain ribbon waistband; knee length.
  • Red satin turban; softly gathered on band; twisted at center front. Donor was Frank Olive's sister.
  • A. Gold silk blouse; horizontal rows of decorations of gold and silver embroidery, gold sequins, and gold beads. Wide scoop neckline, short cap sleeves, cropped top ends just below the bust, strands of gold beaded fringe at hem, back gold button closures, large single rhinestone, and loops. B. Sheer red printed silk chiffon bandeau bra; large floral design in yellow, green, blue, and white. Edged with red satin ribbon, unlined. C. Red chiffon miniskirt; fabric shot with gold threads printed in large floral motifs, no waistband, center back invisible zipper closure, lined in white taffeta.

Dark red and black striped wool jacket; straight; no closures; pointed collar; three-quarter set-in sleeves; split cuffs; long double row of self-fabric appliquéd scrolls on either side of front; underlined in red silk. B. Underdress; dark red and black striped wool straight skirt; attached to black silk bodice; sleeveless; nineteen inch long black zipper closure; attached petticoat. C. Dark red wool blouse; rounded neckline front and back; cap sleeves and godets; eighteen inch long hand-overcast center back zipper; slightly fitted with tucks; black silk underlining.
  • Dark red wool tweed suit. A. Boxy jacket; johnny collar; long straight sleeves; three button center front closure with triangular extensions at each button; bias banding; Princess seaming; horizontal and vertical darting; china silk lining. B. Straight skirt; two inverted hip pleats; knee length. C. White silk twill blouse; red cherry print; jewel neckline.

Multi-colored silk chiffon evening gown with woven stripes; bucol fabric in green, red, and blue; jewel neckline; full raglan sleeves; A-line silhouette; cut on bias; hand-picked back zipper with four covered decorative buttons; long skirt. B. Peach silk chiffon underdress; V-neckline front and back; long skirt. C. Multi-colored silk chiffon scarf; bucol fabric in green, red, and blue; worn at neckline, flows down back.
