Unlined, knee length. D. Wrap, single piece of fabric. E. Belt latches in back with hook and eyes and snap closure. Small, flat bow. Used for Valentina's famous "Quick change" routine.
Goes with coat (Object ID #1995.382.B) and jacket (Object ID #1995.382.C) to form five piece ensemble. -

Off-white wool coat dress; sheath style; asymmetrical double-breasted; V-neckline with modesty panel; two white circular snaps at right side of V; seam at natural waistline; five white snap closures down left princess line, snaps reinforced on inside with hook and eye closures; center back seam; front and back princess seams running from waistline half way up torso; geometric raglan cap sleeves; square patch pocket on left hip; all seams are flat felled; white silk lining is hand-stitched to outer fabric; a few small stains around top button and at mitred corner on left front panel at hem; just above knee length.

This dress has features similar to Florence Eiseman's "Functional Fashions" line for children with disabilities from the early 1960s. It is unknown if this dress was officially part of that line or merely uses similar design elements. -
