  • A letter from Robert C. Landsiedel, Associate Director of Alumni Affairs at Drexel Institute of Technology (where Sister Aloyse earned her master's degree in textiles) to Sister Aloyse Hessburg of Mount Mary College (Milwaukee, Wisconsin). Mr. Landsiedel extends congratulations to Sister Aloyse on her design of Mrs. James [Frances Howard] Robb's mother-of-the-groom dress for the wedding of her son Charles to Lynda Bird Johnson, daughter of President Lyndon B. Johnson, at the White House on December 9, 1967. He also asks for a photograph and a brief biography to use when mentioning her achievement in the spring 1968 alumni newsletter.

Custom made for Hildegarde and used as a performance gown in the Persian Room of the Plaza Hotel, New York City.

  • Silver lamé evening gown; plunging V-neckline; heavily padded shoulders; batwing sleeves, zippers at wrists; three open-ended darts at bustline; empire waistline with red beaded lace over cream netting, same trim on lower sleeves; center back zipper closure; inverted box pleat from waistline down; skirt slit below knee; rounded off hemline; front skirt has short overskirt with rounded edge; back skirt has godet at center back for flare, forming a train. Performance gown worn by Hildegarde.

Jacket; semi-fitted; upper collar is khaki, wool epaulets are orange; epaulets have silver buttons and bound buttonholes; six silver buttons down front with bound buttonholes; set-in long sleeves; 1.5 inch wide self-fabric belt with leather backing; four keepers and squared silver ball and bar buckle; lined in orange china silk. B. Skirt; A-line; straight waistband; softly gathered panels; front panel of khaki; slit open almost to waistband at center front, creating the look of a center pleat; hand-overcast center back zipper; underskirt has khaki wool front and khaki silk taffeta back; knee length.

In accepting the honor Ms. Lee traveled to Mount Mary and took part in commencement ceremonies, which resulted in a friendship between her and Sister John Francis Schuh, President of Mount Mary.

The letter concerns the awarding of a full-tuition Fashion Fellowship at the Tobe-Coburn School for Fashion Careers to Mary Ellen Wiczynski, who was graduating from Mount Mary College that spring.

  • Gray wool flannel dress; jewel neckline; sleeveless; seam going down center front, forms into box pleat; 2 princess seams that come down into waist and form box pleats, one princess seam starts at shoulder and other starts at middle of front armhole; 3 horizontal seams; one goes through center front seam and is located right under bust, extending from center seam to first princess seams on each side; other horizontal seams are side seams that extend .5 inch from armpits and go to first princess seam closest to side of garment; center back zipper closure that forms into box pleat; 2 back princess seams on either side of zipper, these also form box pleats; knee length. The donor, Sharon Lipinski, constructed this dress in Sister Aloyse Hessburg's Couture class.
