Completely hand-overcast and finished. Worn with black faille bolero. Worn by Valentina.

Zipper teeth have given out.

  • White and pink floral print silk tissue taffeta cocktail dress; shirtwaist style; natural waistline; short sleeves composed of diagonal tucks at corner of one-piece gussets; pink roses are hand-appliqued on bodice to match print; full skirt, many knife pleats into waist seam; mid-calf length; attached interior crinoline. Two belt loops with no belt. This item was created by Norman Norell for Traina-Norell fashion house.
  • Red silk charmeuse sheath evening gown; embellished in geometric woven designs in white and dark red and black and white bugle beads, Appliques of red and black velvet, jewel neckline, sleeveless, darts at waist, slight train at center back, center back zipper, ankle length, lined. From the Bill Blass Fall Ready-to-Wear line (for the fashion house Bill Blass Limited), designed by Swedish designer Lars Nilsson. This gown was the finale outfit of the runway show.

B. Underdress; dark red and black striped wool straight skirt; attached to black silk bodice; sleeveless; nineteen inch long black zipper closure; attached petticoat. C. Dark red wool blouse; rounded neckline front and back; cap sleeves and godets; eighteen inch long hand-overcast center back zipper; slightly fitted with tucks; black silk underlining.
  • Navy blue and white checked silk and wool suit. A. Boxy jacket; double-breasted; small pointed collar; set-in long sleeves; six white ball buttons and bound buttonholes on wide front panel that extends around hem length; underlined in navy blue silk. B. Straight skirt; 3 1/2 inch wide appliquéd bias-band near hemline; darts and gathers on self- fabric band; left side zipper.

Child's blue and white striped seersucker sunsuit; yellow and white striped straps and band around waist; straps attach to front with 1 button each; appliqués of sandcastle, pail, and shovel; gathering at waist and around legholes. B. Child's blue and white striped seersucker sun hat; soft crown; wide brim; yellow and white striped band around brim; part of brim is turned-back with large yellow and white striped bow. Also worn with shoe (Object ID #2022.04.25.c).

Child's navy blue cotton/polyester blend shirt; jewel neckline; small white ribbed standing collar; long sleeves with ribbed cuffs; 2 snaps at left shoulder; intarsia pattern of red houses, white picket fence, and green road lines; appliqués of 2 red cars, cloud, and sun. B. Child's navy blue cotton/polyester blend pants; elastic waist; legs gathered into green and navy blue striped cuffs.
  • Child's white cotton/polyester blend terrycloth cover-up; wrap-style; hooded; pink and white striped piping around all edges; appliqué of 4 petaled pink flower with green leaf at upper right front; small interior ties on right side, exterior ties at left. Possibly from the Spring 1987 collection, since the colors and motifs are similar to Object ID #2022.04.23.a and Object ID #2022.04.23.b.
  • Child's pink cotton/polyester blend terrycloth cover-up; hooded; short sleeves; white ribbed bands around center front opening, armholes, and legholes; appliqué of 2 pink and white striped cherries and green leaves at upper right front; 4 button center front closure; gathered at legholes. Matches swimsuit (Object ID #2022.04.23.a).

  • Child's pink and white striped swimsuit; likely a polyester/cotton/lycra blend; scoop neckline; thick straps; appliqué of 2 pink cherries and green leaves at lower right front; low U-shaped back neckline; ruffle along bottom. Matches cover-up (Object ID #2022.04.23.b).

    Possibly part of a "brother-sister" set with Object ID #1997.298.
