Navy blue and white plaid wool suit. A. Jacket; boxy; mandarin collar; 3 large navy blue buttons down front; two single welt pockets set on angle; long straight set-in sleeves; bands with one button on bottom of sleeves; back gathers into shoulder yoke; unlined. B. Skirt; straight silhouette; raised waistline; side seam zipper closure; knee length. With the slacks (Object ID #1999.276.c) these pieces form a three piece ensemble, though not all three pieces would be worn simultaneously. -

Coat
Royal blue suede coat; Peter Pan collar; 7/8 length kimono sleeves; 4 large covered buttons at center front opening; two patch pockets on thighs; lined in black taffeta; knee length. Label missing.
Based on the time period this was likely designed for Maurice Rentner Limited.
Worn by the donor, Joan Urdan, who worked in the fashion industry in New York in the 1950s, 1960s, and 1970s. -

Blue broadcloth suit; fabric is black scrollwork print on blue ground. A. Jacket; fitted; modified shawl collar with lapel point; hip length; long sleeves. B. Skirt; tiered; 6 gores; mid-calf length. Suit fabric is very faded. -
Dinner dress
A. Long red and blue crepe dinner dress; Chinese-inspired print of geometric maze shape with organic vines and leafs; jewel neckline; short puff sleeves with pleated sleeve caps; bodice and sleeves are red printed with white; bust darts; waist pleats; long A-line skirt is blue-purple printed in lavender; side hook and eye closure. B. Self-fabric tie belt; one side is red print and other side is blue-purple print. -
