Black silk satin dress; pink roses with purple leaves in warp print; funnel neckline buttoning on left shoulder; long, narrow kimono sleeves; close-fitting bodice with bust darts; very full skirt gathered to natural waist; skirt lined in black satin. B. Black leather belt; curved; silk satin covered square buckle.
  
  This dress can also be worn with a silk satin belt (Object ID #2002.84.27.c).

• Evening gown

  Off-white silk chiffon over silk evening gown with blue rose print; V-neckline in front, square neckline in back; square set-in sleeves. Worn with evening coat (Object ID #1983.239).
  
  Worn by Lynn Fontanne to receive a special Tony Award for Lifetime Achievement in 1970, although the gown was created much earlier. This gown was possibly made by Valentina, but has been significantly altered. Purchased at the auction of Lynn Fontanne's estate using funds from Mount Mary alumnae.
