Tailored blouse; winged collar, center front button closure, sleeveless with bias binding, darts for shaping, double layer of fabric over bust area, unlined. B. Gathered skirt into straight waistband, midcalf length, unlined, hand finished with French seams throughout. Worn by Valentina.

    Worn by donor Mrs. FitzSimmons to the horse races. The winning horse was called "Stupendous," and Mrs. FitzSimmons was wearing the jockey's colors of yellow and purple.

  • Corset and skirt ensemble. A. Beige brocade corset; floral damask pattern, right side zipper closure, asymmetrical with tucks under left breast, external boning in front, asymmetrical point on right front at bottom. B. Brown chiffon skirt; made up of two fabrics- most of the skirt is a tan ground of abstract shapes in dark brown and reddish pink. The other fabric is pleated chiffon in khaki yellows of stripes. Used for a flounce on the hip and an underskirt; no waistband, center back zipper, many flounces and layers throughout, asymmetrical, ankle length, lined in tan chiffon.

Navy blue silk surah blouse; tie neckline; front button closure; silk gathered onto red wool waistband with double button closure. C. Red wool skirt; gathered waistline; two inseam pockets in side front seams; fully lined.
  • Taupe wool ensemble. A. Halter top; band neckline; lining peplum to be tucked into skirt. B. Skirt; flared; 4 gore; bias cut; no lining; hand-overcasted.

    Made by donor, Mary Fulop Nowakowski, MMC Fashion Design graduate, class of 1974. Created for the 1973 fashion show. The outfit was listed as "not for sale," though the muslins could be purchased for $15.00 (skirt) and $10.00 (halter top).

    This skirt was used by Sister Aloyse Hessburg and Charles Kleibacker for their couture class.
