  A letter from Elaine Zarse, instructor in the Fashion Design Program at Mount Mary College (Milwaukee, Wisconsin), to Sister Ellen Lorenz and Sister Luetta Wolf, expressing her ideas regarding the organization of the Home Economics Department. Zarse was in favor of making the individual programs (including Fashion Design) into separate departments and had suggestions for department chairpeople. This was in response to the "Letter from Sister Ellen Lorenz and Sister Luetta Wolf to faculty, December 8, 1983" (linked below).

  Navy blue silk crepe blouse; round neckline; 2 inch front band with white top-stitching done 1/4 inch apart on diagonal; 3 small buttons on front band; white top-stitching around neckline and sleeve bands; long straight sleeves; 3/8 inch band at bottom of sleeves which buttons.

  A. Black wool jersey tunic top; high round neckline; front of tunic is cut on bias; five self-covered buttons and bound buttonholes. B. Black wool jersey straight skirt; lined; short length. C. Black wool jersey belt; self-covered button and bound buttonhole.

• Evening gown

  Blue/green changeant silk taffeta evening gown; yoke of blue/green silk chiffon; set-in one-piece long sleeves in chiffon; low scoop neckline in back; dress body of taffeta; center front seam; gathered at center back; ankle length; not lined; no closures.

  Black and white wool tweed day dress; white squares with black in center; jewel neckline connecting to center front zipper closure, covered by fringed placket; short set-in sleeves fall to elbow; center front modified princess seam; gathered at natural waistline; waist sashed with wide satin belt; fringe covers hem, center front, sleeves, and neckline; skirt backed in white organza; knee length.
