In accepting the honor Ms. Lee traveled to Mount Mary and took part in commencement ceremonies, which resulted in a friendship between her and Sister John Francis Schuh, President of Mount Mary.

  • This photograph appeared on page 106 of Arches 1966 (Mount Mary College's yearbook) with the following caption: "Miss Aileen Ryan points out the latest fashion trends to Sue Polanski, Monica McCue and Jan Rother."

    Aileen Ryan was the women's editor at the Milwaukee Journal and a significant supporter of the new fashion design program at Mount Mary. She taught a class in fall 1965 (likely when this photograph was taken) as well as in the later 1960s and early 1970s.
