Worn by donor, Bobbe Fine, to the Mt. Sinai Gala held at the Ambassador East Hotel in Chicago, Illinois in 1980. Mrs. Fine served as co-chair. The gala's theme was Le Bal des Papillons. Gown was purchased at Kanes in the Ambassador East Hotel. -

Floral print chiffon cocktail dress; floral print is green, black, and dark gray on light gray ground. Layer of black tulle over chiffon, tulle decorated with large black sequins, black beads, white pearls, and clear rhinestones in an asymmetrical cluster at right hip. Scoop neckline in front; deep V-neckline in back, straight silhouette, sleeveless, many layers of black organza rectangular ‘petals’ on each shoulder, line of beading extends from right princess line to the hem in both front and back and around the hip, above knee length, side zipper and buttons closure.

Worn by Lynn Fontanne. This is likely the gown Lynn wore with a mink collar on the November 19, 1951 cover of Life Magazine. Lynn likely also wore this dress when she was presented to Queen Elizabeth II in 1953. Purchased at the auction of Lynn Fontanne's estate using funds from Mount Mary alumnae.
