  • Multicolored paisley jacquard wool shawl; predominantly red with green, yellow gold, light blue, and black; 8 inch by 8 inch black center; two sides have black fringe; 71 inches by 72 inches.

    From donor's maternal great grandmother, Mrs. Wayne Sawyer, who was part of the Crafts family from Vermont. Shawl was manufactured in Paisley, Scotland and imported by Lewis Jones, importer of fine shawls. First owner of the shawl was Mrs. Chapman Crafts.

  • Black rayon and sequin cocktail dress; dutch collar; 5 seams extending from center front neck outwards to waist before turning into pleats; additional small pleat on either side near side seam; black sequins mimic the shape of a bolero jacket, rounded at the front and extending down the long sleeves, with the hem being the faux "hem"; 1.5 inch wide cuffs made of self-fabric; 22.5 inch long center back zipper closure; collar connects to itself in back with hook and eye; above the knee length. Tag: "Geoffrey Beene, New York".
