    This suit is an exact reproduction of a 1908 theater suit in the collection of the Wisconsin State Historical Society. The donor made this replica as her senior project in Fashion Design at Mount Mary College in 1974.

  • Black lace-like cocktail dress; modern version of lace in irregular geometrics in both cotton-like fiber and shiny synthetic; motifs are diamond within square, cirle within square, and square within square; lined in beige silk shantung; U-shaped low neckline; small cap kimono sleeves; fitted bodice with high waistline at front; flared skirt on bias in front, A-line skirt on grain in back; has center back long zipper; natural waistline at back; knee length.

Made exclusively for L. S. Ayres & Co., Indianapolis.
