Royal blue velvet stole; 18 x 118 inches. Gown and stole form performance ensemble worn by Hildegarde.
  • Dark red evening bolero jacket with scoop neckline; deeply plunging at center front. Two hook and eye closures at overlapped center front waist. Dolman sleeves with invisible piecing at cuff for a tight fit. Unlined, completely hand-overcast and finished. Worn by Valentina.
  • Black silk velvet evening bolero; V-shaped plunging neckline, one hook and eye closure at center front. Shaped hemline rises higher at center front, dipping at center back. Long Dolman sleeves with unusual pattern forming a gusset-like underarm seam. Unlined. Completely hand-finished with overcast seam. Worn by Valentina.
  • Black panne velvet evening cape; jewel neckline, one hook and eye closure at the neck, center back seam, shaping through the shoulders, midcalf length, unlined, unfinished. Seams turned in and double overcast by hand. Large tear near right shoulder, opening near hem on one side has been widened. Worn by Valentina.
  • Dark red silk velvet bolero jacket. Standing collar, asymmetrical front closure with a hook and eye. Front is cut on the bias. Long straight sleeves, square set into the armscye. Double hand-overcasting at hemlines. Worn by Valentina.
  • Black silk satin cardigan evening coat with large cut velvet flower design; neck built up, no front closure, single welt inseam pockets, straight short sleeves, flange down center back, underlined with silk organza, completely hand-overcast and finished. Worn by Valentina. Possibly 1940s fabric re-made into a coat.
  • Black silk faille strapless evening gown; two turned-back triangular pieces above bust have hand-appliquéd velvet leaves, natural waist with horizontal and vertical seaming, darts and boning in bodice, full-length flared skirt has in-seam side front pockets. Completely hand-overcast and finished. Worn with black faille bolero. Worn by Valentina.
  • Monastic style black silk velvet evening gown; jewel neckline edged with black cording, long dolman sleeves, empire waist, cording runs through thread carriers at waistline, extended with shirring at wrist, A-line skirt, full evening length. Hand over-cast & hand finished. Lots of small tears throughout, some of which have been patched or mended. Worn by Valentina.
  • Purple velvet evening coat with machine-embroidered pink roses and metallic green leaves; small embroidered green leaves scattered throughout. A-line; winged collar; three fabric covered buttons and bound buttonhole center front closure; swing shape; drop shoulder sleeves with two diagonal darts at wrist; inseam pockets; midcalf length; lined in brownish red satin. Worn by Valentina. Possibly not designed by Valentina due to different construction techniques, but instead a costume built by Kerenskaya.
  • Black velvet coat; turned-down collar bound with silk ottoman; five button front closure also bound with silk ottoman; jeweled jet buttons; single welt pockets; lined in ivory silk.

  • Black silk brocade and velvet pelerine evening capelet; floral jacquard with clipped velvet design accented with jet beads. Lined with silk velvet, forms deep front facings. Edge between jacquard and velvet beaded with sequins and jet caviar beads on netting.

    Antique Spanish capelet or shawl often worn by Valentina to complement her own garments. Likely served as an inspiration for wraps and shawls she designed.
  • Black straw hat; wide brim; edged in black silk velvet with black silk velvet around crown, ending in a bow and streamers in back; crown has a punched-in effect. Worn by Hildegarde.
