Evening coat
Beige silk gazierre evening coat; cardigan style, convertible collar, dolman sleeves, clutch, no center front closure, unusual seaming, inseam pockets; midcalf length, lined with silk taffeta. Lustrous thread in fabric gives subtle shine. Small red stains near pockets. Worn by Valentina. -

Beige silk chiffon evening gown; large keyhole opening at front; hand-rolled edges; one covered button closure at neck; opening reveals lace bodice; long slender souffle sleeves, edged in lace; hook and eye at wrist; intricate drapery twisted in center front, continuing in short cascade over left side; crepe floor length skirt. -
Evening gown
Heavy beige lace over white satin back crepe and white chiffon evening gown; strapless; wide band of lined white-beige mutation mink around top; long, straight, very slim skirt; concealed center back zipper with hook, eye, and snap closure; attached off-white boned inner bodice. Made exclusively for L. S. Ayres & Co., Indianapolis. -
Five piece ensemble
Beige with brown spatter print silk ensemble. A. Fit and flare dress; normal waist, halter neckline, center back nylon zipper. Halter has a front slit with a reverse, skirt is gathered. Unlined, knee length. B. A-line coat; jewel neckline, Chinese ball and loop center front closure, 3/4 length kimono sleeves, cut in one with the coat. Same length as dress, unlined. Possibly had longer sleeves at some point. C. Short bolero jacket; jewel neckline, 3/4 length kimono sleeves, cut in one with body of jacket. French darts, unlined. D. Wrap, single piece of fabric. E. Belt latches in back with hook and eyes and snap closure. Small, flat bow.
This ensemble was used for Valentina's famous "Quick change" routine. -

Beige wool jersey hat; fabric stretched over frame; low crowned sailor type; small brim; black band with black mask pin at center front.

Pale beige muslin skirt with zig-zag rows of basket weave; rows are closer together near hem; straight waistband; side zipper closure; straight silhouette; lined in yellow silk; knee length. Worn as an ensemble with blouse (Object ID #2009.11.57), jacket (Object ID #2009.11.59), and scarf (Object ID #2009.11.60).

Suit
Beige and dark brown hand-woven wool tweed suit; yarn appears hand spun with large slubs. A. Jacket; cardigan shape, collarless, six plastic beige buttons and hand stitched buttonholes, slash pocket vents in the back on the princess line. B. Skirt; waist facing, center back zipper, one slash pocket on the right-hand side, separate silk lining attached to the waist facing. Label Valentina. -
Suit
Navy blue honeycomb wool tweed suit; white, beige, and red specks inside holes. A. Jacket; cardigan neckline; two pockets; fringe bottom of jacket; 3/4 length sleeves; brown suede trim; unlined. B. Matching skirt. C. Beige suede tie belt. -
Three piece ensemble
Beige georgette ensemble of a dress, jacket, and belt. A. Dress has halter neckline that closes at nape with two hook and clip closures, sleeveless, natural waistline, bodice closes at lower center back with five hook and clip closures. Skirt gathered at waist, floor length with extra panel that wraps over back closure and is secured with six snaps. B. Jacket with high neckline with buttonhole and clip closure at nape, bracelet length modified Angel sleeves that start at elbow. Rest of jacket has no seams and sits like a shawl. Large slit in center front. Back is bare. C. Belt has six hook and eye closures at back, sits at natural waist, brown decorative arrow detail at center front.
Possibly worn by Valentina. -
Two piece ensemble
Light beige silk shantung ensemble. A. Dress; slim pencil skirt; slit in center back seam for ease of movement; skirt attached to a tan silk lingerie top with spaghetti straps; fifteen inch long center zipper closure; skirt underlined with ivory silk. B. Overblouse; sleeveless; wide band of horizontal and vertical faggoting; concealed center back zipper closure; twenty-two and 1/2 inches long.
