  • A. Mauve silk charmeuse evening gown; trimmed in burgundy silk velvet at neckline and armscyes; plunging neckline at front and back; sleeveless; bias cut; mermaid silhouette; unlined; ankle length. B. Burgundy velvet belt; lined with mauve silk charmeuse; ties at side.

    According to Sister Aloyse Hessburg, this gown is a copy of the bronze gown by Chauvel (2012.01.51.AB). This gown is attributed to "Cafe de Paris in London by Ilene Adair."
  • Magenta rayon matte jersey evening ensemble. A. Gown; low neckline and back; spaghetti straps; two layers of shorter jersey on the right side with undulating hemline; asymmetric cut. B. Cloak; high neckline; open-style 3/4 length sleeves that widen, then are tacked up; shorter in front to waistline; cascades down to hemline; slight train. Worn by Hildegarde.
  • Black cotton jersey evening gown; high jewel neckline, long sleeves, one fastener at top of back, back tapers open and bare down to hips, beige triangular chiffon inserts over the back hips, ankle length.

  • Navy blue jersey and satin evening gown; fit and flare; mock turtleneck; long straight sleeves; jersey bodice; satin stripe skirt overprinted with roses; center back zipper closure; wrap-around skirt; accordion pleated ruffle down left side front opening and on bottom; navy blue satin attached ribbon belt with fabric rose at left side front; full length.

    The lower part of the gown has water stains on it.

    Worn by Audrey Ross. She was part of the Ross family who owned J. H. Collectibles.
  • Black silk crepe evening gown; strapless; six white narrow vertical strips applied evenly along gown with white bows at top; strips run down dress below knee, flaring out with six godets; black sequin beading runs completely around white strips; corselet bodice understructure, back hook closures; center back zipper with hook and eye closures. Worn by Hildegarde for the first time in Milwaukee in 1948.

Green, bronze, and black plaid silk satin evening gown; tight-fitting bodice of green and black plaid; off-the-shoulder sleeves attached to bodice with fabric strips, stitched at upper arm, then released into fullness and stitched again at sleeve hems; voluminous skirt; pleated 1.5 inches from waistline, released into deep pleat effect; back zipper closure. Label: "Bruyere Paris Place Vendome". B. Black patent leather belt; four inches wide. Performance gown worn by Hildegarde.

  • Black wool jersey evening gown; various size brass domes applied to hem and sleeve wrists; jewel collar; dirndl styling; long sleeves; floor length. Worn by Hildegarde. This item was created by Hubert de Givenchy for Nouvelle Boutique.
  • One shoulder purple velvet and taffeta gown; shoulder strap on left, built-in corset of black mesh, taffeta over-drape covering the bust and creating a large skirt to the right side, taffeta drape lined in clear polyester mesh to stiffen, left side zipper, bow on shoulder and on right side of skirt at the hip, ankle length. Line across the skirt where it probably draped across a hanger.
  • Black chiffon evening gown; sweetheart neckline; lace bodice with pink underneath; padded puff sleeves; padded bustline; full skirt; side zipper closure; stiff along hemline; crepe underskirt is weighted. Purchased 2/29/1940. Worn by Hildegarde. This gown was custom-made for Hildegarde at Bergdorf-Goodman
  • Pale gray satin evening gown; spaghetti straps covered in bar and round rhinestones; princess seams; high waistline; covered button and loop closure in back; trained A-line skirt, backed in white organza; couture techniques with hand-finishing.

    Created by Kelly Frohrib in Sister Aloyse Hessburg's couture class, but never picked up.
  • Metallic dark blue silk brocade evening gown; gold, silver, and red metallic border print at top of bodice and hemline; gold and silver circles throughout; A-line silhouette; jewel neckline; long set-in sleeves; slit to knee on right side.
  • Navy blue silk charmeuse evening gown; high banded neckline, fits tight to throat; sleeveless; low-cut armscyes front and back; empire waistline; 1 inch band and tie at waist, trimmed with silver ring; floor length. Originally worn with a matching scarf which is missing.
