    Designed and built by the Fashion Design student as a couture project in 1981 at Mount Mary College. Val recalls being mentored by Sister Aloyse Hessburg and Charles Kleibacker (especially in fitting). The fabric was purchased from Kovack Fabrics in downtown Milwaukee where she worked for numerous years.

  • Navy blue and white plaid wool suit. C. Slacks; raised waistline; tapered legs. Worn with jacket (Object ID #1999.276.a). With the skirt (Object ID #1999.276.b) these pieces form a three piece ensemble, though not all three pieces would be worn simultaneously.
  • Olive green silk taffeta ensemble with white and khaki colored polka dots. B. Skirt; hip yoke; gathers placed on top of yoke; ankle length; short zippers on either hip. D. Belt; made of bias tubing.
  • Red orange and white double cloth ensemble; A. Coat; slim-fitted raglan sleeves; reversible to red orange and white houndstooth; large houndstooth check on cuffs and patch pockets. B. Houndstooth check double cloth skirt; A-line.
  • B. Maroon silk taffeta cocktail bubble skirt; three rows of ruffles at hem; contour waistband; side zipper closure; above the knee length.

  • Child's light blue and white vertical striped dress; A-line; sleeveless; scoop neckline; center front appliqué of tree with green leaves and brunette child wearing a red dress and holding an apple; 1 button and snap at each shoulder and under each armpit; label reads "Florence Eiseman designed for Marshall Field & Company".

    This dress is from Florence Eiseman's "Functional Fashions" line for children with disabilities from the early 1960s.
