    Barbara Newby Borgwardt was a Fashion Design major, Class of 1970. She later served as a member of the Fashion Department faculty at Mount Mary after she graduated. This piece might have been completed while she was a faculty member teaching Fashion Illustration.

This piece might have been completed while she was a faculty member teaching Fashion Illustration. From the style of garment pictured, this appears to have been completed in the 1980s.

One wears a blue floral dress, another a red and white floral jumpsuit, the third wears a black top and red and white gingham skirt with 1920s style cloche, the fourth wears a mod turtleneck and leggings with a black and white striped mini dress on top, the fifth wears a long loodr white hanbok style dress with red polka dots, and the final two wear 1920s inspired Art Deco style blue and purple outfits. Watercolor, marker, pastels, and pen on board. Signed "Kathie Enright" at bottom right. Measurements: 17 x 20 inches.

    Iva Braovac was a Fashion Design major in the early 1990s, but her graduation year is unknown.

Black and white charcoal, pastel, and pencil on construction paper mounted within mat board. Measurements: 17 x 21 inches. 

    Patti Tomasi was a Mount Mary fashion student in 1976, but it is unknown whether she graduated from the program.

The second wears an off the shoulder dress that has excess fabric at the neckline, the waist, and at the edge of the long skirt. Back reads, “p 18 designs by Pam Paulus Joan Strabel.” No date, artist listed as Strabel. Pen and tape on board. Measurements: 11 x 14 inches.  

    This artwork was featured in the 1978 Fashion Show Program, "Sculptured Softly". Pamela Paulus (Class of 1978) and Joan Strabel were Fashion students at Mount Mary in the late 1970s. It is unknown whether Joan Strabel graduated from the program.

On the left the woman wears a visor and a dark long sleeved and long pants set with lighter stripes at the bust, high arm, hips, and above and below the knees. The one on the right wears a grey toned hat with ruching at the brim and a long sleeved sweater and pants that hit below the knee with tall socks. There is ruching from the top of the turtleneck to a rounded edge above the bust, at the hips, and where the pants stop below the knees. The back reads, “p 4 designs by Vicki Fritsch Cindy Szarafinski”. There is no date and the artist is Paulus, which refers to Pam Paulus. Watercolor, marker, and charcoal on board. Measurements: 11 x 14 inches.

The “fabric” of the outfits may be glued, printed material. The back reads, “p 22 Designs by Mary Freund Joan Strabel.” No date, artist listed as Joan Strabel. Measurements: 11 x 14 inches. 

    This artwork was featured in the 1978 Fashion Show Program, "Sculptured Softly". Joan Strabel and Mary Freund were Fashion Design students in the late 1970s, but it is unknown whether they graduated from the program.
