Green and white gingham cotton and tulle evening gown; decorated with appliqués; shirtwaist style; natural waistline; V-shaped neckline; bodice of tulle over cotton gingham bandeau; buttons down back with 13 ball buttons and loops to within 5 inches of waist; long shirt sleeves, gather to narrow cuffs; sleeves are a combination of gingham and tulle; gathered skirt; full length; overskirt of printed tulle. B. Pink, yellow, and green grosgrain ribbon belt; 5/8 inch wide.

  • Grayish tan silk crepe evening gown; halter top; cowl neckline; high waistline in front; straight skirt to ankle; two 1 inch covered buttons at back neck; mid-back section is cutout to waist; two 1 inch covered buttons at waist above zipper closure; lined in self fabric.

  • Black lace over pink crepe evening gown; ace motif of circles in modern style; Bateau neckline; long sleeves; bound in black satin with ball and loop closures at wrists and back neck; high waistline; A-line pink silk crepe underdress; center back zipper; not lined; floor length. The black lace has been cut to tunic level - this probably isn't original since there is no hem.
  • Silver and black double cloth and lamé evening gown; silver flowers outlined in black; strapless princess line bodice; center back zipper closure covered with buttons and loops; skirt gathered at scalloped waistline seam; ankle length; lined in black satin.

  • A. Black polyester lace evening gown; jewel neckline, large black sequin flowers sewn to edge; deep V-neckline in back to waist; large bishop sleeves, cut in one with bodice; cuffs covered in large 4-petal black sequin flowers; bodice, sleeves, and skirt have floral motif of black sequins with rhinestone in center; full skirt gathered at waistline; fastens at waist in back; front bodice is lined in doubled black crepe; back bodice is unlined; skirt is lined. B. Black silk satin ribbon belt; snaps onto a bow with 2 long streamers.

    Information from donor: "[This dress] was owned by Constance Ross Wexler - she assisted Donald on numerous shows and this dress may have been a sample."

B. Long gold lamé shawl; long hand-knotted beige silk fringe bound in gold metallic thread.

Gold lamé evening gown; rose motifs outlined in pearls, bugle beads and diamontes; sleeveless; slight scoop front neckline, dipping to lower scoop in back; long panel attached at back shoulders. B. Royal blue velvet stole; 18 x 118 inches. Gown and stole form performance ensemble worn by Hildegarde.

Evening gown; strapless; interior bodice built over a strapless, longline bra; asymmetrical front; straight skirt; ankle length; multiple pleats at kick vent. B. Wrap; rectangular; lined with wool crepe.

The full names of the faculty are almost certainly: Barbara Borgwardt, Elaine Zarse, Carol Stowell, Sister Aloyse Hessburg (Fashion Program Coordinator).

    This item is undated but is likely from 1973-74. (According to the fashion show program from spring 1974, there were five faculty members that year, including the four names listed on this item, and the name "Stowell" doesn't appear in the fashion show programs under "Faculty" in any other program 1972-1982.)
